Privacy policy

FixBnB (“we”, “us”) provides on-call handyman, maintenance, cleaning and in-unit setup services to landlords, property managers and short-term rental hosts in Vancouver, Richmond and Burnaby, British Columbia. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable British Columbia privacy law. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect and why.

What we collect

When you use our quote form, we collect the information you give us:

• your name, email address and phone number;
• the property address or area;
• how urgent the job is, the type of service, and your description of the work.

If you contact us by WhatsApp, phone or email, we receive the information you choose to share, such as messages and photos of the issue.

To protect the form from spam and abuse, our server also records the date and time of your request and your IP address. Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) for security and troubleshooting. We do not use advertising cookies or sell your information.

How we use it

We use your information only to:

• respond to your request, prepare a quote and contact you about it;
• schedule, carry out and invoice the work you approve;
• keep business and accounting records as required by law;
• protect our website from spam and misuse.

By submitting the form or contacting us, you consent to this use. We won't send you marketing messages unless you ask us to.

How it's stored and shared

Form submissions are emailed to our business inbox and saved in a record stored on our web hosting account, which is not publicly accessible. Our website and email are hosted by a third-party provider whose servers may be located outside Canada, so your information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

We don't sell or rent your personal information. We only share it when needed to do the job you've asked for (for example, with someone carrying out the work at your property), with service providers that help us run our business (such as hosting, email and messaging services), or when required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and job information only as long as we need it to serve you and to meet legal and accounting requirements, then delete or destroy it securely.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent and ask us to delete it (subject to any legal record-keeping requirements). To make a request or ask a question, email info@fixbnb.ca.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it was last changed.
